The proposal is to redevelop the existing brownfield site to provide 52 residential units comprising of one, two and three bed apartments. There will be associated landscaping to the front of the development facing Southville Road, and to the rear there will be further landscaped communal gardens. In addition, all apartments feature private amenity space. The development has been designed to be sympathetic to the neighbouring buildings.
The application site is located off Southville Road, Feltham in the heart of the London Borough of Hounslow. The currently vacant, brownfield site extends to 0.36 hectares and is located to the east of Southville Road, to the west of the Sandbanks Resource Centre and bound by residential areas to the south and south-west.
The site is approximately 48 metres deep, extending approximately 72 metres along Southville Road and 80 metres along the south-eastern edge.
The design of this mixed-tenure housing scheme was conceived as a contemporary extension of the surrounding streetscape with the aim of developing an exemplary architectural and landscape model for family homes in Feltham. The full potential of the site is utilised by creating a subservient building to the green surroundings. A large south facing communal garden to the rear forms the heart of the site that encourages social interaction.
